With no relevant corporate experience whatsoever.
All the jobs I had before corporate were in:
Betting shops: Ladbrokes
Restaurants: McDonald’s
PT’ing: Virgin Active
Retail: Waitrose
It’s all about flipping these into relevant corporate experience.
Ladbrokes Customer Service Manager
Effectively de-escalated high-tempered betting customers to maintain store order.
Successfully signed up new customers to loyalty cards for betting online.
Bonus: Made it through the day without frustrated gamblers breaking the machines.
McDonald's Crew Member
Working under pressure and delivering optimal service in a high-tourist store.
Cross-trained across the kitchen and front of house to cover skill shortage.
Bonus: Ability to make 8 double cheeseburgers at once (levels!)
Virgin Active Personal Trainer
Consulting clients and curating bespoke plans to meet their fitness objectives.
Creating content to attract and scale online coaching capabilities.
Bonus: Kept my cool when clients wanted results after one week of training.
