Quick CV masterclass ✍️

If you’ve missed out on internship applications.

Your best bet is to get some shadowing experience on your CV.

Now I know what you are thinking.

  • “Shadowing opportunities are hard to find…”

  • “You don’t even get paid…”

  • “It’s not real work experience…”

Wrong

  • There are programmes that pay

  • You can access all of them right here

  • It’s all about how you list it on your CV

If you are still reading
You probably need more convincing.

So welcome to a CV Masterclass ✍️

Lock in and peep game 🧏🏾‍♂️

  1. Don’t list “shadowing” on your CV: So, for example, if you get onto the Global Banking & Markets Programme, your job title is “Global Banking & Markets Candidate”

Sounds more official 🤝

  1. Only include the Month & Year: Listing 4 day work experience on your CV is childish…grow up! If you do the programme in April 2025, simply put “Apr 2025”

Very ambiguous 😬

  1. Stretch the programme description: “Selected as a top candidate amongst 1000+ applications for a leading global banking programme gaining exposure to Global Banking & Financial Markets”

We loading 💨

  1. Corporate jargon for the win: You didn’t just watch a banker pull together a client research report…it was a “High-level overview of end-to-end client research report providing a comprehensive view of current macroeconomic and financial markets landscape…”

Now we cooking 🔥
